Tangled Heart

Oh pure and loving heart, how I have tangled you! Made you strong and made you big You were easy and I knew you back then, But now, I have opened you up to so much, And I know not where you start and where you end.

Torn Clay

I make my own path and find my space. I spotted you, a wanderer seeking solace. I waited for you to direct me with your instructions. Instead, you left me to my transgressions. You controlled me with your silence and your two-word messages, Easy to push a button and do a Houdini-disappearance.   All I ever wanted, was for you to stay. It was clear, you didn't want me, I was in your way. Breaking me down when I ran to you like pouring rain. But, I recognized your hatred from a mile away, I always wondered if you felt the same way. With child-like innocence, I gave in and let you play. You told me that you didn't have time to lose. My heart was never enough for you. What about the times that you didn't care?  If I was alive, dead, or just plain scared. How could you be so intense with someone, when you really didn't need them, after you're done. As you find your way inside my depth, Rain awakens me to trace your steps.                                           -Sherise

After I completed performing this song on stage, my band mates urged me to go forward with the marathon run as I had registered. They encouraged me told me I could do it. I felt blessed to be a part of such a supportive and understanding band! :-) Since our performance stage was very far from the race start point, I had to walk and find my way to Azaad Maidan from where the race would commence. All the roads were blocked and the side-walks were full of people cheering for the marathon runners. I squeezed my way in between stages and asked dozens of police officers and by standers the route to the start point, but no one seemed to know. This was part of reason why the experience of
