Wilderness

Image
When you take over and I yield to you, The rush of this wilderness arrests all taboo. Take in my beauty, I've given in, you've won. Hold me down and let your pride turn me on. As you find your way inside my depth, Rain awakens me to trace your steps.                                           -Sherise

SCMM 2017 - I Went the Distance!

When the going gets tough, the tough get going! Check out a recording of my Cover of 'Eye of the Tiger ' by Survivor that I performed with the Band that I am part of - AFM . They are a group of incredible, yet humble musicians and I am ever thankful that I could share the stage with them! After I completed performing this song on stage, my band mates urged me to go forward with the marathon run as I had registered. They encouraged me told me I could do it. I felt blessed to be a part of such a supportive and understanding band! :-) Since our performance stage was very far from the race start point, I had to walk and find my way to Azaad Maidan from where the race would commence. All the roads were blocked and the side-walks were full of people cheering for the marathon runners. I squeezed my way in between stages and asked dozens of police officers and by standers the route to the start point, but no one seemed to know. This was part of reason why the experience of...

Confusion is a Choice

Lost in a space that I thought I knew, Chasing the dreams that I pursued, Living every moment and waiting for time to pass, The next level seems further away, than I thought it would be at the start, I don't know where I am going or what I'm going to be, The gaps in my understanding make it tough for me to see. I wait for events to take place, some sign of the new direction, With the onset of change, sometimes I don't recognise my own reflection Who am I? What am I supposed to be? Where am I supposed to go and from this confusion, how must I break-free? Stuck in a life that seems happy, but Im scared to lose it all, Afraid that the things and people I've hoped and longed for will be the ones that make me fall. When will I know the certainty of my life - a future that is sure, Sometimes, when I look back, all I see is a blur. Maybe I choose to think this way and to continue being confused, Leading to erratic and unstable behaviour and my tendency to lose...

Lessons of My Life

Everyone does things for their own reasons. These reasons lead the person to obtaining results.. Someone once told me that “The Universe is a University - You can learn from anyone, anything, anywhere. ”  This is one of the best lessons that I have learnt that has spawned many new thoughts and ideas. It opened doors for me to explore, open my eyes to the world around me to use what I sense, to catapult myself to new levels. Every experience now meant a new learning. This inspired me to capture and evaluate lessons that I learnt from different situations and people. The following are some of the main lessons that I have recorded: 1)       Give and it will come back to you. I had once taken part in a music concert as a member of the choir. As part of the repertoire of songs that we were performing that day, there was a song entitled ‘Give and it will come back to you’.  This made me think about the times where I only focused on getting things...
